I bought a 1998 TL 2.5 recently and it runs great but when you are creeping
slowly, I hear engine noise. Is this normal? No it doesn't sound like the normal engine revving, more like a clattering noise. I have never driven one of these so I don't know if it's normal. Any thoughts as to what it could be? When the RPMs go around 1500 or so it revs normally again. Do the valves need adjusting on these? |

I have one of these too and found the valves to be a little loud. I
actually have an appointment on Fri. at the dealer and I plan to address this. Well, I took it in yesterday and had the valves adjusted. The tech said a
couple exhaust valves were a little tight if anything. I really don't think the engine sounds significantly quieter. Maybe they're just loud? Btw, mine has 45k on it. Thank you very much MZ
Thanks for getting back to me. I have been suspecting the valves. Afterall, according to the Acura manual, they require inspection/adjustment every 30k. My 2.5 TL has 80k miles. I'll take a peak at the valves when I have some more time this spring. I'm glad it's nothing major. valve adjustments come with scheduled maintenances
