Default 95 GSR problem

Hello
I have a 95 GSR with 156k...been pretty good.
Every now and then when I go to start it, nothing will happen. It's kind of
like trying to start it without pressing the clutch. If I turn the key back
into off or take it out and try again it works fine...could this be an ignition
switch?
Thanks
-Brian

Have you changed your timing belt? It's due.

Do all the warning lights come on? Does the fuel pump run?

Sounds like it.

Isn't there a switch that forces you to press down the clutch when starting?
If so that might be another item you may want to check out.

Likely, but there are other things to check. As has been mentioned,
the clutch switch. Try cycling that by itself or the key by itself
without removing your foot from the clutch. Do you hear the starter
solenoid click? Battery terminals clean and tight?

The SRS (airbag) is nearby. That gets somewhat tricky.
Other than that it's just removing some covers and two small bolts.
Have you got a shop manual? Got the code for the radio?
