Default 1992 Integra GSR - Stolen

My beautiful GSR was stolen last Sat in downtown Montreal and found in St.
Eustache minus:
-engine
-transmission
-steering wheel
-wheels

The engine had 408000kms and had recently passed the emissions test without
any required repairs. My insurance is trying to nickel and dime me but I
will accept nothing less than book value.

Regardless of what the cheque provides, nothing will replace the feeling you
get when driving that car. I know there are upgrades in the Integra model,
you just tend to get attached to these things.

owened my integra (3 years). Are you thinking of a 94-01 integra to replace
it ?

Now some rice boy will abuse it in his civic!

I'm not quite sure what to do...a friend had a contact who owned another 92
GSR with low kms but he sold his a few months ago....as far as I'm
concerned..kms are of no significance so long as the car is well maintained.
I was looking at a 95 GSR but it is a bit pricey for me. I'll wait and see
what the insurance cuts me!

Well, you could go and get a NEW motor and a good used tranny, even upgrade
to a larger, more powerful 94-01 1.8L DOHC VTEC that the newer GSR used.
All sorts of possibilities using your hopefully still intact body/chassis.

Did you check to see if your ECU was still in the car? My 94 GSR had it's
ECU stolen a year ago, took 6 weeks to get a new one.

Do you know where they sell VTEC engines in the Montreal area?

How much do they usually go for with installation?

I also wanted to know if the Honda plant in Ontario manufactured Integras or
if they were entirely built in Japan?

I believe all the Integras were made in Japan.

I've seen ads in the Honda and import tuning magazines for new
engines, check the local bookstores for auto mags on import cars.

Sorry about what happened to you man, I know the feeling.
My Integra was stolen last Oct. and never found again.
I got so attached to that car, now I have replaced it with a RSX, but I
don't enjoy this car as much as I loved the Integra, and that was just a GS,
not even the GS-R.
I wish there was something you could do to stop this kind of crap but there
is nothing you can do, as long as there are drugs out there and ricers, like
our friend said, this will continue.

Tony

I have a red one of those with 120,000 miles on the odometer. It's the
best car I ever had. I hope nobody ever styeals mine. Sorry for your
bad luck.

Are they really so rare? I'd imagined they'd be because of the change
in body style the next year('93).

Actually, the -model year- was 94,although they sold in late 93,because
that's when I bought my 94 GSR.

I actually liked the earlier body style better, but did not want the
automatic seat belts,I hate those things.(not seat belts, just automatic
ones)
