Default Vigor CV Joints

Can anyone give me a ball-park figure on how much I should expect to pay to
replace all CV joints in my '92 Vigor? I would imagine that a dealer would
put in new ones. Since a Vigor is a little rare and there aren't many
around, would I be able to find rebuilt ones and have an independent
mechanic do the work? Thanks for any information.

Bryan,

I have never done this, but the way to go is rebuilt. Apparently not too
difficult to find. Depending on your technical skill you can do it
yourself. (Replace them, not rebuild them...) Find the instructions at

www.acuravigorclub.com

In the "timely topics".

Since I've got your attention, you should join "the rest of us", Vigor
owners that is, at our home in Yahoo Groups:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/...andlegendclub/

Ask this question there and you will be rewarded. Great group. See you
there.

MR

Actually I am a member of the group already and have read the Timely Topics
article. You are right that it is a much better place to find information
on the Vigor.

I'm also lazy and don't want to mess with it in a 20 degree garage (I live
in Utah) - hence the question. Yesterday I went into my local dealer and
bought some replacement wiper blades. I asked how much for a CV
replacement. For one outside joint replacement parts and labor it would be
around $400. Ouch!

Also in case anyone cares the going rate for a timing belt and water pump
replacement is about $550 at the dealer.

Thanks,
BK
