Thank You > The bulb socket probably enters from the back of the headlight assembly.Look under the hood of the car. Those screws may be the AIMING screws, don't mess with them. A 1/4 turn or so should unlatch the socket from the assy. The halogen bulb plugs into the socket. -- Jim Yanik jyanik-at-kua.net |

It's not so easy to replace the bulb because of space restrictions. If it's
on the driver's side, first losen the battery but don't unplug it because your radio will need reactivation. First unplug the harness, then remove the rubber cover. Find a twisted piece of wire (can't describe it better) that is locking the socket in place. It's hinged on one side with kinda like letter "U" on the other. That part locks onto a headlight assembly. Be carefull not to touch the bulb with your fingers as the grease from fingers shortens bulb's life. Better yet, go to Acura dealer and ask for a ceramic insert. Apparently that's what's causing the burn-outs prematurely. Good luck. I DO know that the replacement bulbs must NOT be handled bare-handed,as the grease from the hands causes a hot spot on the bulb, and an early failure.Use a plastic baggie to handle it when replacing it,or clean cotton gloves. -- Jim Yanik jyanik-at-kua.net |

I would like to hear more of this ceramic insert you speak of. What does it
do and is it free? Is there a tech bulletin on it? -- Brad. Not the bulb itself but if you let dealer replace it, you'll get one year
warranty on it. Mine burnt out 3 times within half year period, that's when they discovered the ceramic insert problem A.
