Dear all:
Lately the word has gotten around that I find great cars and two doctor friends have come to me to help them find cars. I just did it again. My friend Aasif (Dr. A) has been looking for a stick shift Legend GS for years. He has not been able to find the right one, since he only wants Black on Black. However, a few days ago, I came across just the right car. It is a 1995 GS with 159,900 miles and in Mint shape: black ext and Black leather int. The engine says Type II right on it and is hot as hell with 230 horses and Manual shift six speed (Legends of this caliber deserves a manual shift. Automatics robs off so much of the driving experience that you may as well get an RL) Yesterday, we drove down (after Dr. A was post call and had been up for 36 straight hours) to Richmond which was about 250 miles round trip. Anyways, the long and short of it is that we now have a shiny black GS sitting in my carport. It is in my carport for safe-keeping until he can get the paper work down. This car is amazingly Mint. The interior is incredible. The ride runs so smooth that if men had cunts, they'd be certain to get moist the moment they stepped on the gas (pardon the crudeness but there is no better way to describe the driving experience). Here is our QUESTION: The exterior has rock pebble chips. We have a question about maybe getting a Bra for the front. The question we have is that: do they make bras that do not cover up the Acura symbol and the black front grill? It would be a shame to cover up the black grill (the GS had all black grill as opposed to the silver trimmed grill in the L or the LS). Can someone tell us about the available bras for the Legends? Do they all end up covering the Grill and the Acura symbol? Thx in advance. p.s. Regarding the transmission: I suppose if you have the personality-less RL, it would be okay to have an automatic. I mean, when Acura replaced the Legend with the RL, it also killed any personality that was in the Legend. I look at the Legend everyday wonder how Acura could do something like this: ie take awy personality and character from the Legend and rename the it the RL. Does anyone else here feel the way I do: A. about the stick shift and B. about the Legend's death and birth of the drab RL? Also: another tid-bit: some people have expressed concern that 160,000 miles is a bit high for a car. It would be true for most cars. However, I just have to say that Acuras at 160,000 is still practically just broken in. It can be considered practically still new. Case 'n point: Dr. A's current Legend LS is a 1991 with now 312,000 miles! YES read: 312K+ miles. It still runs like a thorough bred race-horse! Therefore, there is no reason that we wouldn't expect the new GS to last 300k to 400k miles. Does anyone else have any experience with high mileage Acuras? I mean, don't you just agree that these cars are so well built that it isn't a stretch to say that they can run FOREVER! sincerely, T I A. Dr. Moser. |
