I have a Haynes manual for my 2000 Integra GS. The manual sucks.
What is the deal with retracting the brake caliper pistons when replacing pads. It looks like the front ones are pushed back into the caliper just like any other car; but the back ones need to be roated first with a special tool? Can anyone elaborate? |

Fronts are just C-clamped back. Open bleed valve and clamp piston. Rears are probably screwed back, with bleed valve open. You can use the special tool OR a pair of needle nose pliers to get into the piston groove and force the piston to the left in a circular motion with the pliers. Factory Manual at www.helminc.com is good to have. At $64, its a steal. __________________ Note: To reply, replace the word 'spam' embedded in return address with 'mail'. N38.6 W121.4 |
