Default 93 acura integra ls

I have a 1993 acura integra LS, 5 speed. I'm just starting out, should I
keep my ls motor and ad a turbo to it or should I do ez motor swap, and I
was thinking of swapping it for a 1994 GSR VTEC. Can I use LS transmission?
Are the drive axles the same? What do I need to do with the wiring harness
if I want to swap the engine out or can I do it myself? Is there a company
that does the wiring harness? Please, email me as soon as possible on some
tips.

Clemence;

What you are thinking about is popular. I haven't done it, but a friend has
done his civic with a vtec from an Integra. Watch Spike TV this Saturday
and Sunday; Horsepower TV, Supertuner TV, other shows have these hop ups on
periodically.

Doug

Also, there are more and more magazines dedicated to engine swaps and
modifications such as adding turbos,limited-slip differentials, intake
mods, all sorts of good stuff.Check out the local bookstore. They also have
lots of ads for the hardware.

If you change motors, you also have to change ECU's(engine control unit),and
they aren't cheap.
A 94 GSR ECU cost $775 new from Acura(mine was stolen last year).

I highly reccomend buying a few good books as well as visiting g2ic at
www.g2ic.com

This site is strictly designed around 2nd generation Integras as well
as their modification, racing capability, etc. You would be amazed at
how much hp you can extract from your stock B18A motor. It all comes
down to what you plan to achieve. Make sure you figure this out before
plunking down any cash. Some things to consider will be your low end
vs. high end torque curve. You'll find that many modifications will
cause you to lose low end torque in order to gain higher output on the
top end. Do you want to design a race car or a daily driven vehicle?
If you want to even consider forced induction with a turbo, make sure
you get informed first. I think the name of the book you should look
for is call, "Got Boost?" or something like that. There's also a great
book called, "Honda Performance Tuning". I also suggest that you
concern yourself with the braking system and suspension before you
start hunting for insane amounts of horses.

Anyway... go to g2ic and talk to BR. Tell him I said hello.

Andrew.
