Hi,
My 98 LS standard makes 2 strange noises when driving. One is a high pitched squeak/whistle whose pitch increases with speed. The other is a low pitch whistle and is a contsant pitch. Both seem to be coming from the back, one on each side. Both continue until the car is COMPLETELY stopped, then they stop. I hear them in reverse and gears 1-5. They sound slightly different when in reverse. I first noticed it a few months after the rotors were replaced. Anyone have any ideas/similar experiences? Could it be the rotors? Thanks Andy |

Yes, I had the pads changed. I am new in town, so I used the local Midas
shop. I have an update on the problem. It is definitely something scratching as the wheel/rotor moves. The scratching noises speed up when the car does. After driving about 8-10 miles (mostly highway) the left rear wheel covers/rims feel warm. If the wheel were a clock, it is warmest where the 5 would be. Thanks in advance for any help. oh yeah. and when I'm breaking, the noise is the same, but slower of course,
because the car is slowing. Otherwise, the noise doesn't change. "Andy H" <athorvath@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:v-GdnWmfwL_fNVeiRVn-sw@comcast.com... > Yes, I had the pads changed.
