I understand that Acuras equipped with NAV can understand over 200 voice
commands for the map functions, radio controls, climate control, etc. I'm
interested in this technology for driving safety, but I'm a little skeptical
about voice recognition performance, especially with a hands-free
microphone. Can anyone tell me how well (or not) this feature has worked for

I bought a new Acura TL with the navigation system. I have used the voice
recognition system a bit and it usually works well. The manual comes with
an extensive list of commands that it understands.

The two that I use are one to change the climate control temperature and
another to request the time. It correctly understands these commands
everytime.

The Acura salesman demonstrated its capability to locate the 'nearest
hospital' and it was able to correctly provide the directions to the
hospital.

I keep planning to test more commands with the car, but I never seem to get
around to it. I am happy with the car so far.
