Got a 95GSR with 214k miles and today it crapped!
The oil lite came on and the car had a kind of knocking sound from drivers side of the engine- intake side, temp was fine ,had plenty of oil but it died like a siezure- locked up and won`t turnover- pulled the plugs and they were fine, no smoke or burning smell nor anything coming out the tailpipe. I think it maybe the oil pump? looking now in manual to see were its located in the motor. any help would be great Thanks --- OutBreak Express mail is certified Virus Free, I think..... :-) Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Sounds like bad news. To me it sounds like it is the oil pump that gave out
but it gave out when you were driving and starved the engine, so it seized. So most likely its locked-up solid(crap!) haven`t had a seizure since my 2stroke racing days.Oil level is good along with coolant, funny how the water templite never moved from its normal postion. It is driven by the crankshaft and I have seen a few fail especially on the GSR's and type R's. I think the engine pulses causes a vibration to occur in the pump causing it to destroy itself.
