Default Valve Adjustment 2001 GSR.

Called the Dealer and found out that I missed my 30,000 valve adjustment and
and now I'm at 60,000. I adjusted the valves on my 99 LS with no trouble,
and was wondering if it is much different on the GSR. The dealer gets $149.
The last time ( on the LS) I talked the parts guy into making a copy of the
pages in the service manual giving the instructions for the valve
adjustment. It was easy.

I thought Honda had changed the valve adjustment interval to a 105k mile
check and adjust only if noisy. When did they go back to a mileage
recommendation?

What does you owner's manual maintenance schedule say about it? I think
maybe your dealer is making up requirements for things that the manufacturer
did not.

Go to a qualilty performance shop.
They will probably adjust them for a little less, and do a much better job

Oh my gosh, you missed the 30000 mi valve adjustment. Must sound like a
piano under there. Well the damage has been done. Now what to do. If I were
you and they were quiet I would probably miss the next one (adjustment)
also. How much more damage cold you do ?

Your right the book says 105 K. I guess the dealer has a lot of customers
who don't read their manuals and go for the 30 K service. My only noise is
a rattle when I start the engine cold. Has done it since day one.

My dealer told me if they don't make noise, don't adjust them.
