1999 RL Security Alarm Problem
I just bought a 1999 RL and the alarm will not set nor will the door panel
lights work. All the door/trunk switches are working according to the instrument panel indicator. I also checked the hood switch and it is also working. There is 12 volts on the light sockets at all when the door is open and closed indicating that the ground circuit is not switching. The overhead lights work fine when any door opens and closes. I have ordered an electrical troubleshooting manual, but haven't gotten it yet. Any one have any suggestions on what might be wrong and where to start. Everything else works great on the car.
