Default Vigor engine - anyone want it? Advice?

Hello,

I have an engine from my '93 Vigor that I am trying to figure out what to
do. The short story - I failed to change the oil when I should have and the
oil level got low - the rod & main bearings started to go on it with 118k
miles on the clock. It didn't lock up but it was "knockin & a rockin"
before I shut it down. I ordered one of those "direct from Japan with under
40k miles on it" engines and had a local shop change it out for me. It's
now "running like a bandit" thank you very much.

What to do with the old engine? I originally planned to dismantle it and
see if the block could be salvaged and maybe not even have to bore/new
pistons, etc. and then rebuild it and set it in a corner of the garage for a
"rainy day". Well, I'm not sure I want to take the time/effort to do that.
Does anyone need an engine like this? Any ideas or advice other than take
it to a "salvage scrap yard" and sell it for scrap metal? Somehow, that
seems "wrong" to let such a high-tech engine be melted down for scrap....

I'm in the Nashville, Tennessee area, so let me know if anyone is interested
or has any good ideas.

Thanks!

no time for ebay - won't "fiddle" with it - if someone wants it - they're
going to have to shout - QUICK! ;-)

got the engine from Nippon Motors - from the "west" coast - so far so good!

ED - I had to run out of town again so it's sitting back in the Nashville,
TN area if you're interested. My personal feeling is that it is very much
worth rebuilding due to the way it was shut down as it was beginning to make
noise. It did NOT seize! It still started and ran when I decided to change
it out. Since no one was able to get by and grab it from me quick it is
still available. I am simply out of town right now. If interested, let me
know.
