Default 2004 Acura TL Pricing

I have been contacting dealers to see if any deals are to be had for a new
2004 TL with navigation.

So far, one dealer quoted $300 over sticker and the other quoted retail. No
one has offered any discounts whatsoever.

Has anyone bought a new TL out there? If so, did you pay more, less, or
sticker price?

Thanks,

- Russ in Santa Barbara

I did pretty well........ perhaps as a return customer.

I refused to pay for ANY of the dealer installed options, including the wood
shift knob, lip spoiler, mud flaps, wheel locks, door edge guards, lojack,
and etching.

Paid $34800 plus TT&T. Turnersville Acura.

John,

You did a bit better than me. I too refused to pay for any options, so they
removed the trunk tray and the wheel locks, but I decided to keep the mud
flaps and there isn't an easy way to remove the door edge guards, so I paid
about $100 over MSRP for those options.

How do you like your car?

I am pretty pleased so far. We took a couple of small trips and the car has
1000 miles on it. I read a review that complained about the complexity of
the integrated navigation and audio-ventilation controls. I have to admit
that I do find myself distracted too often changing settings. Overall he
gave it a good review. Here's the link:
http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...10-30-tl_x.htm

Gas mileage: I got 27 mpg on the first tank, 24 on the second, and then only
18 mpg. Now it seems to be indicating about 24 mpg on the trip computer.

That's about it. I am interested in other's comments on their 2004 TL as
well.

Thanks,

- Russ in Santa Barbara

So far so good. I actually got all those extras, since they didn't want to
be bothered removing them-- especially the lojack and spoiler............

I actually think the navi on my '03 was better. Crisper resolution. Sure,
smaller screen, but it did seem clearer at a glance. As for the voice
activation, so far I've been using the buttons-- I guess either I'm used to
them ,or I feel like a 48 y/o dork talking to the system.

I do like the voice controlled climate. Once you get the regular commands
down, it really becomes second nature.

The ride is a little stiffer than the "03-S. I'm taking it on a pretty good
test trip tomorrow-- South Jersey to Chicago and back. Usually fly, but want
to drive it out there. I think the drive by wire feature is fairly
effective-- more responsive when you want it, etc.

Although bottom line, I think the '03-S navi, at ~$30000, was a better deal.
The new sound IS awesome, no question. Now, I just need 2 things:

1. A bluetooth phone with Verizon.
2. Eagles coverage on the XM radio, so I can drive while disgusted!

Good gas mileage, I get 18 mpg in local driving and 23 to 24 on the highway.
Oh yeah, this is with a '95 Buick Roadmaster, 4200 lbs., V-8 with 260 HP
