Default Honda S2000

Would any of y'all Acura owners consider the Honda S2000 as a
replacement car for a CL?

At about $33k, it costs more than a TSX. Different animal, I realize.
Costs a lot more than an RSX.

So, would anybody consider a *used* S2000, at about $24k, as an
option? Or would any used S2000 be likely to have been pretty wrung
out by its original owner, even with low mileage?

Seems the S2000 gets rather worse mileage than the TSX or RSX, also,
insofar as that's a factor.

Just thinking in public, gotta do something when my lease is up in
January!

J.

I am surprised that Acura hasn't picked up on the Honda S2000, and refined
it somewhat (get an extra 20hp and add some nice refinements) so that they
could have a convertible roadster to match against the BMW Z4 or the Porsche
Boxter.

You haven't been paying attention to what Honda's done with the car
for this fall, have you?

The NSX is Acura's performance car flagship; I think it makes sense
for Honda to have a performance car flagship too, and I think it's the
S2000. Ghod knows, Honda needs *something*.

A final area of subjective improvement on the S2000 is in the horn
note. A spiral double horn unit replaces the current (puny) flat
double horn.

Aha, I see!

Seriously, it sounds like the S2000 is a work of love for Honda
engineers, and the improved vehicle should be (even more) terrific.

Doesn't really answer the point about Acurizing it, which would
entail, well, whatever, mostly cosmetics, I guess, NSX-ish styling
tweaks, perhaps.
