Default clutch & flywheel

My `95 GSR needs a clutch & flywheel, the local dealer wants $1200.00 to do
the work- parts inc.
I can get both parts for $600 give or take but the dealer will only put
factory parts on the car...

So is $1200 a fair price? My better half doesn`t want to have a non-dealer
doing the work, some back info--
this will be the second clutch installed as the stock went
at 140k and the people who put in the aftermarket clutch
screwed up.Broken/stripped bolts and we later foundout that they turned the
flywheel too much and it has crack/warped thus the need for another clutch-
and now a flywheel too.
216k miles now.

I hate the idea of a stock clutch.... at $1200 to boot!

Will they install a used flywheel? (that has been properly machined by a
shop that know how to resurface a stepped flywheel)

That's what all Honda dealers say at first. Until they know about good
machine shops.

Heres the best part, they can get and install JDM engines
but they won`t install any aftermarket parts. But Type R motors from Japan
are just fine.Oh well the shop called and said the car is done, I tell ya
the idea of spending $1200 to get a stock clutch is nuts...
