Default TL/CL-S tires. they suck.

in 10 months i've bought 2 of the Michelins at $250 apiece.
first, i ripped the sidewall backing up at 2mph.
second, i ran over a nail and ground the inside wall by
driving for 2 miles with ~10psi.
just last week i had one plugged because a standard size
staple caused a slow leak.

aside from the sad traction, braking, and screeching, whats
wrong with the tires? i don't recommend them to anyone.
i noticed they switched to Bridgestone for '04.

anybody else share my sentiment?

I haven't totally come to the sucking conclusion but I'm not happy
with the big bubbles now showing up on two of the tires. I haven't
taken them in yet.

Michellins in genreal are totally overpriced and underperform (IMHO). I
have a GSR that came with Michellin XGT's and they sucked. I waited some
time before buying new tires but noticed a huge improvement in overall
performance by switching to Yoko's AVS100. I don't have to worry about snow
so these are great all year round. For the TL it looks like the Dunlop
Sport A2's would be a good pick for an all season tire or if you want a
lower priced tire the Avid H4's. My fiance switched from MXV4's to Avid
H4's on her Accord and so far they've been great.

I put a set of Kumho KH11s on my 98 TL 2.5. The price was great, and the
handling and ride are excellent.

That may be true for some Michelin models. I don't particularly like
the ones on my 02 TL-S. However, I have a pair of Pilot Sport A/S on
my Thunderbird SC that I do like. They are overpriced but they run
beautifully on my Bird.
