Default 94 Teg, start up problem

HELP!!! Can anyone help identify/fix this problem? I put the key in and
turn it all the way to start engine, and nothing happens. By nothing I
mean, no sound, no lights.

To start the car, i put the key in the gear lock, push the gears back and
forth (auto car) a few times.

Then put back in ignition. Takes a few times, but then it works.

I don't know if the gear pushing has anything to do with it or not. In
fact, now when i'm driving i hear funny metallic sorta dragging noises, at
first I thought it was a loose muffler, but now I think it makes noise
whenever the gear changes.

Anyway, everything resets, clock, radio. Makes me think it's the battery,
but it's less than 6 months old. Just had a major tuneup 6 months ago too!

Guy at acura said the startup contacts were bad, and they said they fixed
them, but apparently not ...

Can anyone help?

Perhaps the switch(gear position switch) that prevents starting while in
gear, only allowing starts in park or neutral,Yours may be bad.
The Haynes manual has info on this;page 7B-5 to 7B-8.

Take it back to the acura dealership and tell them about the above
problems. It could be a number of things.

Do Acuras have electronic-controlled transmissions? I think they do.
This sounds like a problem with the transmission computer, and since the
car is under warranty, find another Acura dealer and let them at it.
