Default Cheapest time to buy a car....

Hey guys,
I was wondering if buying a car in the middle, or near end, of winter
would actually lower the price of a used car. Im looking to get a RSX and i
can afford it, but i dont need a new car within the next 5-8 months, i was
just wondering if the price would go down during the bad seasons. Any
opinions?

Has anyone driven a GTI or 04 subaru impreza (not the wrx or sti)......how
do they feel compaired to the RSX?

I can't comment on the best time to buy...that's highly debateable...and
sometimes timing & luck play a part...

I will comment on your decision between a Subaru and VW comparison ... in
simple words, if you cared about the resale value at the end..you would
avoid them both. Check out your local paper and look for a 98 Subaru
Impreza & VW, compare it with the Integra or the Civic, you'll see the
difference. VW Golf might have crashed even more than the Impreza. If you
buy either the VW or the Impreza and want to sell via either a newpaper ad
or trade...you'll be screwed...you'll get the same run around...no
demand...an unscrupulous car dealer would say...the NADA wholesale says $ 5
grand...but we can only give you $ 4K...these VW's just don't sell. If you
had the RSX or the Civic you would be able to sell by putting an ad in your
newspaper...you'll get calls...have no fear !!

Oh...I forgot to mention the MOST IMPORTANT point...which is...the RSX would
be prone to LESS PROBLEMS than either the Impreza and most certainly the VW.
VWs suck...their salesman would brag about German engineering etc...that's
rubbish....If I wanted German engineering I'd look at Beamers & Benz....not
a lousy VW. Look at a copy of Consumers Report, typically out in
April...you'll clearly see VW with more red dots indicating problem areas
after 3 years of use...just like Fords & Chryslers....don't make that
mistake...Don't hesitate to check out Acuras...you'll see they have black
dots for many many years for their entire product line!! <& so do Hondas,
Toyotas, Lexus & Infiniti>

My 2 cents.

The Red Dots are good, the black dots are bad

Buy now, what they have on the lot. End of model year is the best
time.

Maybe I should have said more BAD dots on the VW, Chryslers and Fords and
GOOD dots on the Acuras, Hondas, Toyotas and Lexus...LOL....

Also someone mentioned about transmission problems on Acuras....there are a
few on the TL 3.2 they say...I have a TL 3.2, 2000...cream puff..62.4K miles
no problems whatsoever.....smooth as silk....never seen a dealer after I had
bought it...
