Did anyone else get stiffed by the dealer on DVD updates. When I
bought the car they told me the first 2 years would be free and then it would be $50 a year after that. After one year I went in to get an update and they wanted $150. Needless to say that when I finally do buy an upgrade or new car it will not be from that dealer. In fact, given Acura's poor customer response, I am not sure I would buy another Acura. It's a great car, but their service isn't quite up to Lexus standard. Actually we got better service from Saturn. |

Haven't heard anything yet. I still wonder why they skipped 2002. I was told it was going to be every fall when I bought the car. |

Each fall, a Navigation System DVD update disk is available for purchase. This disk contains updated mapping and Points of Interest (POI) data. The latest version for 2000-03 CL, TL, RL and 2001-02 MDX is Version 2.05 released September 2001. If you have the 2003 MDX, 2004 RL or TSX with voice activation, the system contains the latest software. The scheduled release date for the 2000-03 CL, TL, RL and 2001-02 MDX is Fall 2003. You may want to check back at www.acura.com during this time or contact the Navigation DVD order line at (888) 549-3798 for further update information. You can contact our Acura Client Services phone group at (800) 382-2238 if you need further assistance. For your information, we are open Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time. Further information on the telephone recording says that this will be a HUGE upgrade that covers 95% of the roads in the U.S. and some Canadian border towns. It is supposed to be released this Fall and only is for non voice systems. No definitive date was given. Price will be $185.00. |

For the money anyone has plopped down in the last 3 years for any navigation system in ANY car, those update DVD's should be FREE...FOREVER. I could see paying AT MOST $29.95...And I want a "I-bought-an-Acura-and-all-I-got-was-a-30-dollar-future-frisbee" T-Shirt, too. |

Yes I contacted their customer service number about the dealer misleading me. They said if I didn't have it in writing, I couldn't prove it and I was out of luck. Perhaps I can't prove the dealer told me that, but I can prove that it is just as easy for me to buy a RX330 as an MDX next year. This may be just a coincidence, but I found someone in the Newsgroup that heard the exact same thing from the dealer. Must be coincidence.... |
