Default Re: Gas Mileage for 2000 TL?

Mine is right at 40,000 miles. The overall gas mileage over 40886 miles is
22.8 mpg. On the highway, it has always gotten between 29-32 MPG (cruising
at 75-80 mph). City is 20-23 MPG. The AC (or maybe its the funky summer
gas) accounts for a 2-3 mpg decrease in the summer.

23 on the highway is too low. Something is not right if thatıs all you get.

I own a 2001 TL and on mostly highway driving, I get 10 liters per 100 kms
in summer time, which is very close to what you get. I usually drive it at
75-80 mph, but I also noticed that I get slightly better mileage if I drive
it at 100 km/h (62.5 mph).

Default Gas Mileage for 2000 TL?

In the four years I've owned the car, I've gotten pretty loudy gas
mileage. Well, maybe not lousy, but the best I've gotten about 23 mpg if
I did nothing but highway driving.

Are you guys getting about the same?

I remember being a bit less than impressed with the gas mileage when I
first got the car, but the service techs at the dealership said that it
should improve as the car breaks in (?). After 4 years, if it's still
not better, I don't see how it will improve on it's own.

On a typical tankful of gas, I'm getting 20-21 mpg.

My 2000 TL 3.2....gives approx 27 ~ 30 mpg on highway and 22 ~ 24 mpg city
driving. Tankful of gas with mixed driving is approx 26 mpg. I have 60,750
miles.

My 2 cents

You can't get a stick shift TL.

Default Re: Gas Mileage for 2000 TL?

E. Meyer to my rescue again...right...TL automatic...just filled up
today....what's up with the gas prices...paid $ 1.979 a gallon for 93
octane. Was just 1.797 last week....bumped up by $ 0.20 in a WEEK???

In any case, the gas mileage (highway + city). Tankful 332 miles / 12.9
gallons = 25.7 mpg....cost me a whopping $ 25.50....and the yellow light
wasn't even on....That's the MOST I have paid for gas in the Boston area.
My previous record was $ 1.949.

Hope that clarifies the gas mileage on my car (2000 TL 3.2)
