The rear bumper(at least the plastic cover) on my 2002 RSX-S in uneven.
When comparing the left and right taillights, the bumper sticks out about 1/4 past the right tail ligh whereas the left is flush with bumper. As far as I know, my car has never been rear-ended, or has backed in to anything.. I can push the bumper back in flush with the taillight, but will slide out again. The local Acura dealer has tried to fixed it, but they haven't done a good job, it still pops out. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Thank you, Dave |

I know nothing about RSX's but I do know that Integra's have the WORST
body-panelling of any vehicle I've ever seen for having pieces just pop off whenever they feel like it. I know someone who leaned on the back to check the suspension and ended up spending a pretty penny for a new rear panel. I test-drove a '94 LS and had a piece from the front driver's wheel well come off and drag against the tire. For so much money, the panelling should be done a LITTLE better. Good luck! Man,it sucks bigtime to get door dings in a new car. Those schmucks should be dragged a few blocks behind the car they ding. -- Jim Yanik,NRA member remove null to contact me |

Hey, maybe Acura should go "poly panels" like the Saturn?! I've always
thought that ground up plastic milk bottles with UV stabilizers, solvents, a touch of epoxy and color additives would be terrific . .. and cheap recycling! :-) Bumpers. The "real" problem is that the manufacturer's 5 mph bumper stds (U.S.) were diluted in 1983. See: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety >> http://www.iihs.org/safety_facts/qanda/bumpers.htm#7 for a safety/cost explanation. This is a general problem with all makes of cars (excluding the new VW Beetles, which are excellent) that every manufacturer can solve. Manufacturers are not "required" to disclose bumper standards to consumers except in California & Hawaii but can if they so desire. Bumpers and all external trims are $money$ makers for manufacturers (parts & new cars) and repair shops. Every industry suffers from the "Man In The White Suit" syndrome .. .
