The best oil filters are ones that have bypass valve pressure relief with
correct setting. Getting aftermarket oil filters that filter more or have more surface area is not necessarily better if the bypass valve pops early and lets the oil bypass the filter. That said, the best are OEM especially if you have a high performance engine. Oversized aftermarket filters that fit a host of other models usually have bypass settings set to the lowest common denominator. This is soemthing that even oil freaks overlook. Otherwise get an aftermarket filter and check specs on bypass setting and compare to the OEM "Dave M." <gadget@frontiernet.net> wrote in message news:FdWRa.2025$1Y5.56@news02.roc.ny... > Where can I find an oil filter specification and feature comparison source, > where I can identify an RSX-S filter replacement that is an appropriate > substitute and perhaps better that the original. > > > Thanks, > > Dave M. > > |
