Default Analog OnStar Systems to become Obsolete

I own a 2003 Acura TL-S with the NAV system. It was purchased at the end of
October and has less than $3000 miles on it.

I received a purlication from OnStar last week in which they said that due
to a recent FCC ruling, cellphone carriers are not required to support
analogic systems beyond 2008. It also said that all of the OnStar systems
in Acura prior to 2004 are analogic. The article implied that there may be
some type of transisition plan or upgrade, but was quite unclear about that.

I am interested in knowing if others are also concerned about the OnStar
system failing to work in a few years (I keep my cars for a long time...just
traded in my 1982 BMW in 2001). Perhaps if Acura and OnStar heard from
enough of their customers they'd be more likely to see that dual band
equipment is put in the Acuras prior to MY 2004.
