2000 TL question - bent bracket
I bought a 2000 TL couple of weeks ago. Under the car on either side, in
front of the rear wheels, there is a bracket mounted parallel to the ground.
They seem to add rigidity to the underbody. Anyways, on my car, the bracket
on the driver's side is bend upwards in the middle by about 1/2 inch,
hitting the underbody. I think someone bent it when they tried to jack up
the car from the bracket.
I'm planning to take the bracket off and straighten it out. The bracket is
mounted on one end by two bolts and the other end with a big nut. I like to
know if there is anything special instructions for taking the bracket off.
(I plan to have the car resting on the wheels when doing this. Also, I like
to know what torque settings to use for the two bolts and the big nut.
Thanks ahead for any help,
Danny Chung
