Default replacing power antenna, '91 Integra LS - HB

Before i start digging in the wrong place and ruining a perfectly good
day ...

Not obvious to me, what is proper way to replace the power antena on
'91 Integra LS-HB.

2 options appear to be underneath the car from wheel well and other
from behind panels in the hatch ?
I am guessing one is a wise choice and the other un-wise.

And will a "universal" power antenna that says works with Integra '91
be ok to use or maybe i should get the real thing $$$

TIA

Antenna is destroyed. The mast was snapped off at a carwash.

Oops! Must have been one of those "whippy brush" car washes.

You get at the antenna from the inside of the hatch. There is NO access
from underneath! Carefully pull off the hatch weather strip. Remove the
rear interior panel, then the shock-tower top trim, then the left-side
interior panel where the antenna is.

It is easy to tear the hatch weatherstrip when removing it, so go SLOW and
give it time to let go. Use a screwdriver to help lever it off the
pinchweld.

It will be impossible to remove the rounded, chrome nut that holds the
antenna to the fender-top; they corrode/weld to the antenna body. Protect
the paint, then use a Dremel or grinder to cut the nut into a "C" shape.
Spread the C with a screwdriver, then remove it. After that, removal is
easy.

When you install the new antenna, make 100% certain the drain tube goes
through the hole in the floor, otherwise you'll have water in the hatch
when it rains.

Yes, the whippy foam rubber bristle brush car wash did it.
I had a near miss, a long while ago, with the giant sloshy mopping
carwash.
Thanks for helpful instructions.
