Default Why is my Acura transmission slipping?

I have a 2002 Acura CL with V-Tec V6 and 99,000 miles on it. Transmission just serviced at 80,000 miles. Fluid level is good, but the transmission "slips" between gears lately. (For example from 1st to 2nd it revs high until it "grabs" the next gear). Any thoughts on this before I run to the dealer? By the way, this one had the transmission recall and it received a new trannie at about 30k miles. Thanks.

That could be due to a slipping tranny (but with 63k miles, it shouldn't be), or it could be due to the computer controlling the tranny. I would take it to the dealer to find out what's wrong with it.

Did you get your transmission flushed? Sometimes after flushing a transmission, issues may occur due to it.

Other than what the people said before me warm your car up first untill the temperature meter is in the middle. This happens to my friend's Mercedes and its only because his car hasn't relay had a chance to warm up and it stuck on the low gears and high revs untill it warms up

2000-2003 5spd automatic TL's and CL's have tranny problems. Honda/Acura was replacing them under warranty up to 109,000 miles and/or 7 years. Take it to your local Acura dealer and see what kind of deal they can give you on a replacement tranny.

Timberlake is right. Those car have a common tranny problem. The thing is that Acuras repaired before 3/2005 received a new transmission but it was the old tranny- which will likely go out a gain. I'm assuming yours is one of those. The 3/2005 and later replacement transmisisons had improvements and those have been very reliable. You should go to the dealer and see if they will replace it. My neighbor who had his replaced free of charge eventhough he was 7,000 miles and two months past the extended warranty. Good luck. BTW the warranty is 7.75 years /105,000 miles.
