Default What's the difference between a Acura 5 speed and an auto?

I'm trying to figure out what intake to get for my Acura RSX, but the websites i'm looking at are asking if it's 5-speed or automatic. What's the difference? The Acura RSX-S is 6-speed manual so that means that the auto is 5 speed. So is there even a difference between the 5 speed and auto?

Actually, the RSX automatic is a 4 speed. The RSX-S is a 6 speed manual only, and the base RSX manual is a 5 speed. Generally speaking, the transmissions and sensors can be different between manual and automatic versions of cars (especially hondas it seems), which would be why it's asking if yours is a 5 speed or auto. Also, as someone else suggested, there are kickdown cables for the automatic transmission that aren't present for the manual, etc.

Really if you do not know/understand the difference between a 5-speed and an automatic, you should not be messing with anything on your car and trying to make alterations. You should read up and really know what you are getting yourself into before you attempt anything. What will happen is you will mess around with something you won't know how to fix or put back properly. Then, you will end up with a non-running or poorly running car.
