Default why does my gears scratch when above 3500 rpms?

on my 1990 Acura Integra when im shifting gears it makes a bad scratch noise every time and begins to smell. i know this isnt good for my car so what should i do

You will burn your clutch plate out; Shifting at that off of the gas pedal;

Either your clutch is blown or the gear synchros are worn out and it is time for a tranny rebuild/replacement

Clutch isn't disengaging all the way, needs adjustment. Do it before your clutch wares out completely.
