im planning to put in a short ram intake. (got my reasons) but i was wondering about the stock air filter. once i remove the stock air box, there is a hose that sticks out from the bottom witch i believe is connected to something that is just behind the front bumper. question is.. do i put the new intake and leave that there the way it is, or do i need to pull my bumper off and take that out??? I really need the answer, i don't want to mess anything up, and its been hard finding the answer for it. please try and answer the question fully and the reason for your answer. thanks a lot

I believe that is a breather hose, it allows excess air to vent somewhere rather than throw off your air/fuel ratio. The aftermarket intake should have a connection for that hose to plug into, assuming you aren't buying one off of eBay. Use a name brand one; don't just disconnect a hose and expect your engine to run okay.

all you need to do is remove all the old air intake stuff and remove the map sensor and put in the ram air intake install the sensor and done. that hole at the bottom is for the stock air unit to get air but is no longer needed if you are changing the intake also remember to re conet the skinny hoeses you take off

If you are removing the stock air filter box remove the hose that goes in front of the car also. It will not have to be hooked up once you put the short ram in. It WILL NOT mess up the way your car runs. I own a 1991 Acura Integra with velocity stack (no filter) and my car runs better and has a turbo sound from the amount of air getting sucked in.
