And I am getting my water pump/ timing belt changed, and the guy said I will need to pick up some coolant as well. First I've heard of this...anyone?

You shouldn't need to pay for,coolant..IF your getting,timing belt & water pump, done @ same time.Should be in the price..Should be no extras..TO answer your question,approx $12-00.
