Default Regearing a stock(?) 1991 Acura Integra
I just picked up a 1991 Acura Integra for basic transportation. I Enjoy driving the car, but it has ridiculously high RPMs when traveling at highways speeds. 3500 at 65mph! This is killing my gas mileage, (yes, I know, I'm a dork.) As far as I can tell, everything under the hood is stock. So I was wondering, is it easy to re-gear the top gears on this car to drop these RPMs or is this a project not to be tackled by a VERY inexperienced car guy? Or would it behoove me to get a replacement tranny? And how much would this cost? Is there something else I could do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
