ive got a 94 gsr and to be quite honest with u, u really dont need to do all that. boost it if u need more power. if u do wanna shed some wieght start with the ac and take all that off. u can take all the sound dampening stuff out. change the clutch n light weight fly wheel. i mean theres plenty of ways to lighten it without taking the seats out completely but u really dont need 2. keep the integrety of the car and just build the motor and trans. the cars really fast anyway

anthony21580 i agree with him, besides the obvious less people, a simple secret most racers know about is if your going to race race with about a 1/4 tank of gas or maybe less keep in mind it weights about 8lbs per 1 gallon so 10gallons = 80lbs in just gas 2gallons = 16lbs so 64lbs saved, carbon fiber is another way to make a car lighter, and if your making it a track only car they have light weight glass which can save you alot of lbs.

- If you have an automatic, swap to a manual
- aluminum flywheel - carbon fiber hood & trunk - carbon fiber fenders - carbon fiber doors - A/C delete - power steering delete - stereo delete - sound deadening removed - replace exhaust with aluminized steel or better yet titanium parts - replace stock intake with aluminum piping and cone filter - remove trunk & hood struts (if applicable) - replace glass with lexan (illegal for street use) - replace steering wheel with aftermarket (illegal for airbag equipped) - remove floormats - vacuum car - remove plastic in fenderwells - replace wheels with Enkei RPF1 or similar - remove spare tire, carry a small air compressor and tire patch kit - remove cruise control - EGR delete (illegal) - get underdrive crankshaft and accessory pulleys - remove unused wiring - get aluminum brake calipers (assuming yours are iron) - get 2 piece brake rotors with aluminum hat - remove windshield washer reservoir, pump, jets and hose I can't think of anything right off hand but once you get started on this stuff you find new ideas, I've been there. |
