Dad says "It's not a first car" but I really want one. I mean, I've never felt the desire to own anything more in my entire life. I want to see one in my driveway and know that it's mine!
Anyway, I want a Pearl White or Gold one with tan leather interior hopefully nav. system (horrible sense of direction), but "should" be able to live without. Sound okay for a straight A honor student with excellent credentials currently taking drivers ed? Is a salvage title REALLY that bad? |

Your dad is right. Its going to get wrecked and abused and since its fairly new its still worth a lot so he would be out a lot of money.
Get a beater for like $1,000 and drive it for a year or 2. Then when it gets damaged you either leave it like it is or junk it and you aren't out much money. When you learn how to drive better and take care of the car you can get something better. Yes salvaged cars are that bad. It had enough damage from something that it would cost more to fix than its worth. Someone fixed it anyways but there is no guarantee that they fixed it correctly. Even if it was fixed correctly its going to be hard to register and insure it. Its also worth about 50% of what a car in similar condition (without the salvage title) is worth. |

I got a 2004 acura tl silver (6-speed manual) for my first car 5 months ago and i haven't looked back since..probably one of the best cars ever made. stylish, fast, roomy, sporty. its just an amazing car. Keep trying to get him to get it for you, and don't worry about people saying your gonna wreck it. When i got mine everyone said i was gonna die in the first week and i still haven't got a single mark on it since i got it. Go for it!! plus your a straight A student. You deserve it! Best of Luck!
