I just bought a 2005 Acura TL with 80k miles on it. Its an automatic. When I shift into Drive or Reverse, it takes a good 2-3 seconds for the transmission to actually shift into the selected gear. Is this normal for Acura TLs or is something wrong with mine?

Check the fluid level. If it's normal, add some transmission conditioner to remove varnish from the transmission valves..

do what henry said, check the fluid level. Other than that, I hope the previous owner didn't thrash it.
