It was my uncles car , but when it idles it sits below 1000. like in 600-700rpm and whenever I'm parked and give some gas, it produce alot of smoke. I need oil change? I suppose to get one right now and i am at 178k miles. Thank You

your car is suppose to idle at 700 rpm in park or when the car is in park. It all matters what color the smoke is if it is a dark blue that means that u are burning oil and the seals on ur pistons are starting to go bad same with dark white smoke that mean ur car is on it last legs.

The car should idle @ 300-500rpm in park or held on foot brake when warm..You don't say if the car is a turbo or not..Suspect it is a turbo as















most Accura's around this time were..178km not high for one of these















beasts..Unless your using bucket loads of oil everyday suspect the seal has gone on the turbo..Thereby allowing it to accumulate oil in it's housing,so when you pedal it,it dumps it straight into the hot exhaust















giving you huge amounts of smoke..GET the seal replaced,pronto,before the impeller breaks..New seal probably set you back around $300,but well worth it if you like the car..If it's not turbo ed















get a price for a head on DE COKE,believe it to be around the same















price like $300 again a good investment if you like the car..Most important as car gets older to keep up maintenance.."IE"oil & filter changes,power steering,brake fluid change..Auto trans oil & filter change..Then they just keep on going..
