I have a 95 acura integra and now I'm having trouble with it. I don't know if it's the clutch or the transmission or both. When the car is turned off I can put it into any gear. I can also put it into gear when the car is cold but after driving it for a while it is extremely hard and sometimes impossible to put it into gear. When in gear the car runs fine, it's not sluggish or anything. I really don't know what is going on. I don't want to replace both things if I don't have too (bad economy you know). I've had the car for about 5-6 years now and have not change any of the fluid (besides oil change) only added fluid to whatever fluid was needed. If you need more information from me to give me some advice please ask because I really need help. People keep telling me that it's either the slave cylinder or the clutch master cylinder. How can I determine if this is really the problem. Cause I bled the fluid but that didnt solve anything.

The problem is in your transmission. It sounds like someone used a heavy weight motor oil or gear oil in your trans. Drain it and replace with genuine honda MTF fluid. If your doing it yourself there is a trick method in filling the trans that Honda does not mention. Its easier. After draining open inspection/filling hole, but fill through the speed sensor hole. Remove the speed sensor insert funnel and fill until fluid comes out of inspection hole. Or take it to a shop.If this does not solve problem then there could be bigger problems. The temperature of the clutch fluid should not raise very much, since it is not flowing through the engine. And therefore the temp should not affect shifting. You should drain the fluid and replace it with new fluid (brake fluid) if its dark in color, but that will not fix your problem.Does the trans grind when shifting?
