my cruise control doesn't work now either. and the a/c is intermittent but most of the time doesn't work. sometimes the light comes on but the compressor doesn't come on at all. also the little indicator that tells me that my doors are open and my brake light is out says all the time that my doors are open.

get an engine code reding at a part store. i e auto zone go from there.sounds like you have electrical problems

Find a good repair shop specializing in car electrical systems and better still if they have a clientele of foreign car owners. The scan tool will only be informative if the ECM is the culprit, and more likely it is a bunch of corroded, intermittent connectors at various places under the hood, a faulty under hood fusebox or a damaged wiring harness. Old relays are also a possible culprit.
