I blew the heads and melted the knock sensors on my 1992 Acura legend. I'm looking into buying a JDM engine and transmission off of eBay for 950 shipped. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with these types of engine deals. I've been ripped off on eBay before and can't afford that when dealing with an engine.p.s. seller has good rating and my engine is already out of my car.also seller claims 30-60k on engine is this likely?

people often state that it is a JDM engine...but i would ask proof of that first...I bought an engine from a shop in Anaheim ca...but he was able to provide the paper work from where he got it in japan...also...i wouldn't buy anything like that with out taking a look at it...because for all you know he just cleaned it up on the outside but there might be something wrong with it internally...there are many shops in which ever area that will probably give you a better deal on an engine just like it...also, are you planning to get the exact same engine as the one you have now...because if you dont then if will cost a bit if you upgrade to the diff style honda engine...plus ill tell you this...reguardless of what engine you get for this car...once you buy it you are pretty much saying "im keeping this car for a long time" because replaceing an engine if not the cheapest thing in the world...and when you do change it...if you decide to sell the car no one will give you the actual value of the car...i replace my engine on 91 acura integra and no one will pay for that...the car runs great with a new JDM engine...but no one will give me what i want for it...so really think about it before you change it....
