No, it does not replace itself. A person has to do that.

I think your question is "Can I replace the air filter myself?" The answer is yes you can, changing an engine air filter is usually pretty straight forward. Usually if you go to a garage and purchase one from them, they will install it free of charge. The installation takes less than 10 minuets.

you simply unbolt the top of the big black airbox on the right side of your motor... then take the old filter out and put the new one in... simple as that!
