well the base or not base are both good and both are the same so they both have a lot of modification parts so you don't have to worry about that, however, the only thing is different than the Bass and Type S is that the S model get a lot of Horsepower than the base one. 200HP TYPE S and 160HP Base, but I'll prefer the Type S because of the 40 extra HP and few upgrade in performance and suspension and Handling and fuel mileage.

If you're not good with a MT, stick with the base auto and the S has a 6 speed MT..

if your looking to go fast get a type-s!! The base model has a k20a3 motor which has vtec, but not lift, it's for economical reasons. the type-s has a k20a2 (02-04) or k20z1 (05-06) which have the extra horse power + they have vtack, lol, lift, which is the electronic valve timing for speed. I couldn't drive a manual well when i first got mine, but had i gotten a base model i would be regretting it now! Honda's are easy to drive, and you will get good at driving it whithin a couple weeks. And someone said something about converting to a type-r... but it takes ALOT more than just a wing, seats and some stickers.

The Type S is the faster version and it has a 6 speed manual transmission with 200HP. The base has 160HP with auto or manual. The RSX is a good model (RSX base or the RSX Type S). Acura is owned by Honda so you don't have to worry as much for parts.

You should Get the Type S Model and Convert into a DC5 Integra Type R all you would need is a Type R Wing and Recaro Seats and Type R Decals. it's Less then 2k To convert it.
