I bought a pre-owned 2005 TL Navi last fall and several months after purchase the navigation system went on the fritz.

It will "reboot" itself over and over again. Sometimes it will work for several minutes at a time, then reboot. But it spends 90% of its time displaying the start-up splash screen, then going blank, rebooting and back to the start-up splash screen. Other times the window for the password/PIN will come up. I'll enter it and its a crapshoot as to whether it will boot into GPS mode or keep rebooting.

Sometimes a "Wait 10 minutes window" will come up and then the GPS will work for a few minutes.

I can find no pattern to when it works and when it doesn't, very fustrating.

I have been through the maint screen, done all the diagnostic checks and it finds no issues. But obviously when this thing is on the fritz I cannot run those diagnostic checks.

I have disconnected the batt and removed/reinstalled the DVD to no avail.

I have this sinking feeling that some major unit/processor is on the fritz, for which I am not looking forward to paying for.

Any other suggestions on troubleshooting or resolving this issue before I take it to the dealer and gulp?
