I have a 99 acura integra ls and it has a vtec head, i was just wondering does that year have vtec heads coming out of the factory or did someone did a swap on the head...

Acura made the vtech engine in my model year integra as well 1994, I would assume that it would also be all the way till the discontinuation of the model, which turned into the RSX and that also has a vtech.So I dont think he swapped it, but he could have done it (if it was not orginally as GSR)

Someone did an engine swap in your vehicle. The ls never came with a vtec engine even though the vtec engine was still made but only for the GSR in 99. The best way to tell which engine is in your car is if you look down at it near where the engine and transmission meet there should be like a spot where some numbers and letters will be inscribed(you will might have to wipe it down if its dirty from oil and moisture). It will start with the letter B and then it might have a 16 or 18 so for example like B16A1(out of civic si) or B16A3(out of civic type-r japan only) or B18C1(out of Integra GSR) or B18C5(out of Integra Type-R).
