Its not very reliable and even when done totally right they wont last more than 60k miles maybe a little more depending on the beating. They will beat GSR's but will keep up with H22 swaps. You will be looking at 190~200HP with about 150~160 Torque. If you do it I would suggest while you have the engine apart upgrading pistons and cams to get even better number. After that getting a nice tune and using a system management like a Hondata 300, you will be looking at a nice 13sec car.

Well for those that say they are unreliable, I have a 99 civic coupe with a LS/VTEC swap with over 75,000 miles on it, with a Peakboost GT35R turbo kit, AEM EMS, and make upwards of 700+ hp on 35 psi, and have done nothing but change oil. If you build them CORRECTLY they will last. Most people try to skimp on the CORRECT parts to do it right, or buy junk yard parts. There is really only ONE WAY do build them correct and 99.9% of people won't do it. I bet if you ask 50 people with "homemade" or "junkyard" turbo kits how their cars ran 49 people will say horrible, or it blew in a few days, ask 50 people with a TRUE bolt on kit like a Greddy, Edelbrock and 49 will say, Its still runs like new 100,000 miles later. When done the right way the LS/VTEC is an amazing motor. Now mine I got the LS bottom end from JG Engine dynamics complete sleeved, and all new parts, My B16 head was done at Skunk2, and all new parts like water pump (the GSR version due to having 22 teeth instead of 19 like the LS) oil pump, timing belt, etc.. were installed, a Carbonetic LSD, driveshaft shop axles, AEM EMS. at 13 psi for daily driving it makes 419 fwhp, and for the track on 35 psi it made 706 fwhp. It drives everyday, starts right up and has EXCELLENT street manners.

I would say dump the LS/VTEC, and get a GSR with same performance parts that you mentioned installed on the B18C1 platform. The dirty work that you put yourself through to reach a motor thats built to engage VTEC is not worth it. If its the transmission on the LS thats keeping you glued to a LS motor swap it with the GSR's. Or just boost the LS motor.
