Default 1999 acura tl shifting?

im 16 and i have a 99 acura tl that my dad gave me i think there is something wrong with the transmission but my dad thinks otherwise.when im just cruising it feels sometimes like it in too high of a gear and takes a long time to get up to speed. if i floor it, it sound wierd when it shift like it revs up super high. heres a vid i put on youtube of it. do i need a new tranny or just fluid?

it's probably a bad tranny. you might be covered under the lawsuit and you can check it out on this website.

The TL transmissions were bad from 99-03, might have to replace it.

WAtched the video. You need to get the transmission, fully serviced !! Oil flushed & replaced under pressure, band's re-tightened,new filter & gaskets.Get it done by a Honda agent or similar & before you drive away in it,make sure the trans oil shows bright red on the dipstick. Bit expensive but lot cheaper than a rebuild or replacement. That's why i prefer the dealer, because they can plug into the computer & tell if the trans needs replacement, before they get dirty.. The transmissions on the 99 thru 04 were pretty much dogs but if serviced well no problems. Good luck & enjoy your Acura they great motor car..
