They are decent cars, before somebody irresponsible gets ahold of them and rags them out. The problem with those cars is most of the time whoever had it drove it at its limit for the whole time they had it. NEVER buy one that was previously modified. You are buying someone elses work and trouble.

They are really good cars. They are not very fast in a straight line but when it comes to cornering they are very good due to all the extra chassy braces and no sunroof so there is no body roll like with cars that have a sunroof. Just make sure you are getting a real type-r because there are a lot of clones out there. They usually go for at least 10k or more, they should have a b18c5 engine(red valve cover), no side moldings, no sunroof, and the last 4 digits of the vin number are never higher than 5000. Also always check carfax on them because a lot of them have been badly wrecked and resalvaged. Also check the body for any obvious body work or if paint doesnt match. I use to knew a guy that flipped his Type-R but never reported it to the insurance and then just fixed the car and sold it to a guy telling him its clean title when the car had actually been badly wrecked.

They are some of the best cars you can buy. They do not get problems. No Honda or Acura does.
