Default Whats is the meaning of D4?

I have a primeo D4 ,i dont know what D4 stands for thats why am asking whats it meaning

i also owned a honda which is the same company as acura. all the "d"s are gears. put your car in the highest "d" which is 4 and it will allow your car to shift through all the gears. which your car has 4. if you put it is d3 then you are only allowing your transmission to shift into the third gear which will decrese fuel economy and cause unnecessary strain on the engine.

I will allow you to drive up through 4th gear.

If your car has 4 gears, it will go in automatic through all 4 gears, if it as 5 or more gears, it will only shift through the first 4 gears, then it will stop.

How Automatic transmissions work.D4=4th gear (computerized shifting during all 4 gears)D3=3rd gear (strains engine up to 3rd gear) (possible downshift)D2=2nd gear (shifts only 2 times) (possible Downshift)D1=1st gear (1 gear) (majjor downshift)The time ratios are depending on motor. just because a car is automatic doesn't mean you can still shift it. Trust me.
