ok i live in Idaho, the reason i tell you that is because i know things change from state to state, in the next year or so im going to be doing alot of work on a 1990 acura integra, i want to know what is the most powerful engine that keeps my car from one breaking down all the time and two MAINLY keeping it just a fast as hell street car (this car will never go to the track), now i dont want to know engines that cant just drop in i dont want to custom cut or do anything like that. so please help me out guys
(i mainly just want to trip all the jerks around here that drive 05 and newer mustangs(boise idaho has 9 mustangs to every 10 people driving i swear it), they know nothing of cars and think they win against all rice burners well i want my rice burner to stomp them but not with an illegal car....i know street racing isnt good but its so fun i dont want my car taken away because it should be on a track is my biggest wory) im gona figure out how to add some pics to this so i can show you what im working with its not bad for 350 bucks....

What is your budget?
If you aren't willing to fabricate anything or modify under the hood in order to fit something in there, you are extremely limited on what you can do. Since you don't seem to have very much knowledge in swaps or motors, your best bet is to bring your car and a blank check down to a reputible shop and let them take care of it. Hope your pockets are deep to want something with a ton of power without leaving the B-series platforms... |

ok explain how much "work" is it to change up a platform i mean is that gona be a lot of money in its self or what? when it comes down to it i think you realy didnt have an answer for me at all and are just being discourteous, i want to do alot of it myself and although i dont know all the names of all the best engines or all the best accessories names i dont think i want to realy know alot about anything but my car and what i need to make it fast, i dont like the "this brand is better" or anything like that so not knowing is cool with me thanks for pointing that out......... BACK to my question which has changed ..... what is the biggest EASYEST engine to drop into a 1990 acura integra.... haha i have alot of stuff or will at my disposal to do this my self and with buddys im sure i could change some things as they are more knowledgeable then i am so if some minor mount changing is needed then let it be so..... i just want a damn engine so i can start adding up numbers to see how much im willing to pute into this car and also start shoping around and finding price diferences....

The EASIEST swap without modifying anything except wiring is going to be the B18C's. Whether it be the GSR or the Type R, that will give you the most bang for the buck without having to work on much or modify anything.
If you feel like getting your hands dirty, you can build an LSVtec or a CRVtec. If you just want to rebuild what you have and save some money by not purchasing another motor, you can build your current B18A for boost and throw a turbo on there. Remember, N/A is the expensive way to go slow. If you are really looking for the most power without digging into your pocket too much and don't want to modify much, do a B18C or B17 swap. My vote goes for a boosted LS--you already have the platform, it will all fit, and you can reliably boost an LS with the right tune after you rebuild it. In your budget, set aside money for a tune. Don't buy any crappy eBay chips or generic chips. Be sure to convert to OBD1. Whatever your motor choice happens to be, it will only run as good as the tune. Good luck. |
