I did a search here and Google and nothing to pinpoint a solution.
I just bought a 2005 Acura TL with 60K miles on it. I LOVE the car, but I just noticed that the Navi acts up a lot. When I start the car, it first shows the "Acura: NAVIGATION" screen, right? Then after it goes into the screen with the orange text stating precautions/safety then after a short time it's suppose to bring up the "OK" icon on the lower right hand corner, right? Well, sometimes before that "OK" icon can pop-up it resets and goes right back to the "Acura: Navigation" screen and sometimes this repeats frequent. I can't figure out why. Sometimes it will do it 3X then finally the "OK" icon pops up and everything works fine. Sometimes it will reset 9X+ Once the "OK" icon pops up and I press it, everything works fine and NO resetting occurs once it passes that. Radio works fine even while this is occurring. Any suggestions? Besides taking it in to HONDA since that will cost and arm & a leg since I have no warranty. ![]() Ive taken out the DVD (does have some scratches) out and cleaned it and back in, but still occurs randomly. Could it be the DVD istelf? If I get a new one (I know they're expensive) may it help? If so, could I use a different version? I have 3.5 (Orange). . . will a 3.6 (orange) or higher work? Sorry for all the questions, just hoping someone could help Thanks in advance |

I am having the same problem with a 2005 TL. I posted similar message on forum (did not find yours first), with no responses or suggestions. Did you ever get this fixed or are you still having the problem? If you got a fix, I am very curious as to the resolution.
I have variations of the issue: Start up, keeps rebooting. Sometimes it will start up and state downloading software, then keep "rebooting". On occasion it will ask for the Nav password, and then attempt to boot (sometimes it will actually load) Finally, there are times where it will load a "Please wait" screen and tell me to leave the car on and parked for 10 minutes to acquire a GPS signal. |

I am afraid you are going to have to pull the unit and send it to Alpine for repair. Cost is < $200 for repair, including shipping. Mine works great after they fixed two things with the unit. You can find instructions for returning the unit to Alpine on several forum posts.
